As a British person, I wouldn't mind paying the divorce bill at all, if we continued to receive the benefits those monies were supposed to pay for. Negotiating the bill as a whole seems a bit silly to me since some of the money, like guaranteeing Irish loans, will only be needed in some circumstances. The UK would expect to get paid back their fair share of the Irish loan money and to provide the guarantee money if they default, or neither. | |
