My point is that Navalny is not unknown in Russia (worthy of being poisoned, heh), and his low support figures are largely due to the fact that he is depicted as a recidivist felon in state-controlled media.

I'm sure if that weren't the case there would be numerous foreign western polls that would disprove that. And I have seen none of those. And I'm also pretty certain if such polls existed, they would be widely reported on in western media. Yet they are not.
