It was only after that that the US embargoed all fuel, beginning July 26, 1941. I added a resource to my above answer which gives detailed dates. The resource itself leans anti-US. so I trust it not to make the embargo dates later than they really were. However, the resource omits any account of Japanese actions. When those actions are collated into the timeline, we are better able to surmise US diplomatic strategy and goals - which the OP asked for. | |
