Aug 24, 2021 at 16:29 comment added 264 champagne bottles on ice There's a fairly complex system by which VAT is not applied to (or rather rabated for) exports... and not just exports to other EU countries. Because of the complexity it is fairly creatively used for fraud to sizeable amount though ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vat-gap_en I'm not sure how much more you expect here as your q is pretty broad..
