The federal and Queensland governments are each chipping in $470 million to the tech startup PsiQuantum." Also see May 3, 2023 National Quantum Strategy
May 6 at 21:32 comment added uhoh There's news in May 2024: Australia signs deal worth almost $1b with PsiQuantum to build world's first 'useful' quantum computer and PsiQuantum Receives $940 Million (AUD) From Australian Government — May Now Be World’s Highest Funded Independent Quantum Firm

Apr 8, 2022 at 0:23 comment added Tom Goodfellow It's not obvious what quantum technology will offer the "finance industry" specifically - harder better stronger faster computers will improve almost all industries. Higher frequency trading? Cracking crypto for easier withdrawals?

Apr 6, 2022 at 9:54 comment added uhoh Oh, that quantum!? Not quantum computing but "positioning, navigation, and timing" i.e. something along the lines of What do/will "quantum gyroscopes using nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond" for space applications actually look like, and how do they work? and What will be the accuracy of an Atomic (Quantum) Inertial Sensor used in spaceflight? Those are about space applications but these non-GPS navigation technologies can be used on Earth too
