As described in said question, I keep coming across both interpretations, and have not yet found any clear signs to which one is more accurate. That's basically what my question on Skeptics is about. Please respond over there if you have any information in line with the conventions of that site.
Feb 20, 2023 at 13:15 | comment | added | alamar | I don't have any deeper insight here (I'm not an avid reader of Ukrainian press), I've just withessed The Guardian repeatedly quote Denisova's outrageous claims followed by removal of Denisova on the grounds of these statements.
Feb 20, 2023 at 11:24 | comment | added | O. R. Mapper | @alamar: Interpretations of what Ms. Denisova did range from "she exaggerated the events" (i.e. she invented events that never happened) to "she exaggerated in picking the most troubling ways to describe real events" (i.e. she stayed true to what actually happened, but described it in unnecessarily terrifying ways). Note that I do not want to open a comment discussion here, but if you have any deeper insight and can provide any sources, please feel free to respond to my question on Skeptics.

Feb 15, 2023 at 13:09 | comment | added | alamar | The Western press may not be inventing outright lies but it will happily relay outright lies produced by somebody else if they can get a quotation. The example is Denisova who eventually was let go by Ukrainian side but until then used as a source of quotation.

Jun 19, 2017 at 23:23 | comment | added | Be Brave Be Like Ukraine | It is against the policy of SE to demand our trust the unsubstantiated statements. The entire post is based on certain claims, and these claims were "not commonly accepted" as of 2015 and are "confirmed false" as of today. So either these statements get backed with credible references, or the entire idea of this post is undermined.
Jun 19, 2017 at 22:44 | comment | added | Count Iblis | @bytebuster This has nothing to do with Russian propaganda. You have to consider that the Western media does have a soap like aspect to it where too much attention can be given to some popular story, which then distracts from other issues that are more important but less popular. The media is also about educating people and a media that's too free is like a school where the children set the agenda instead of the teachers.
Jun 19, 2017 at 17:44 | comment | added | Be Brave Be Like Ukraine | -1: this post if full of biased statements and unbacked claims. They were "just unbacked" in 2015, but after two years since this post was made, it becomes clear that most of the claims are simply false and essentially replicate the Russian state propaganda.
