Whether he is the only casualty or one in 900 makes little difference. Most Israelis cannot afford a detached view of American or European voters, for whom hundreds of casualties are mostly just numbers. | |

So they have to balance that with the potential for more. Thus the backlash might not be so immediate, but it's probably a tricky balance. | |
