The president of the ruling party (BJP) promised during election campaigning that only refugees belonging to Hindu, Sikh and Buddha will be allowed into India. The government also seems to be thinking along the same lines. Since India is a secular country, can this discrimination among religious lines be acceptable? What are the political implications of this statement?

Ultra-nationalist BJP led majoritarian Govt knows how to win votes in Hindutva heartland. Being the face of RSS, it promotes and implements their agenda of isolation of minority in their own country. It is known that RSS wants to change the Secular constitution of India into some utopian Ram-Rajya or kind of Vedic Constitution where meat consumption is punishable and drinking animal pee is rewarded.
