In the last week, the 2020 World Press Freedom Index was published (map of results here). One thing in particular which stood out to me was Poland's ranking of 62nd overall, along with a rough classification of 'problematic'. This is in stark contrast to the situation of 5 years ago, which rated Poland at 18th in the world, ahead of Switzerland (20th), and far ahead of the UK (34th) and the US (49th).
