The other day, I went into a restaurant and bought a burger with a plant-based burger patty. I tasted one many years before and it was horrible, so I thought I'd see how far they've come now.

Yes, it still did not taste as good as real meat ... but it did taste *good*. It was a burger. If you weren't specifically told it wasn't meat, you might not even notice. I'd eat it again, and I'd most certainly use it as a substitute for meat products going forwards for various health, ethical and environmental reasons.

With that in mind, it seems that plant-based meat products are the solution to a lot of problems, such as climate change. And while I see a lot of politicians talking about climate change, has anybody actually pushed for growing research into and consumption of such plant-based products?

I mean, I am honestly shocked. I've never liked vegan food, but this is different. It's really tasty, and to me it seems like an obvious solution to some massive problems, and yet I feel it's a niche topic that is only talked about on certain youtube channels or whatnot, but never brought up on the public political discourse.

So that is my question: am I correct in this observation, and if so, why? Or if not, then which politicians have argued for the use of such products and encouraged investing in further research and improvement?
