Doklam is an area near the trijunction of Bhutan, India and China. It has been traditionally depicted as part of Bhutan, but China claims as its territory, among several other areas. China and Bhutan have had several rounds of border negotiations but have not yet reached agreement. Since 2004, China has been building roads in the area, and in June 2017, they attempted to extend the road till the edge of the territory. India, the third country in the dispute blocked China's crew, causing a standoff between the two forces. The standoff ended at the end of August as the two countries agreed to pull back.
