State of Qatar is a country located in Western Asia, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Its sole land border is with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf.

Qatar is an Arab country, bordering , along the Red Sea, near Bahrain. At just over 11,000 square km, it is not a very large country. Originally, it was a British colony, but declared independence in 1971. Qatar's main export is natural gas and crude oil.

Recently, a diplomatic crisis has arisen, with many other Arab nations claiming that Qatar, a close ally with , has sponsored terror. They have cut ties with Qatar.
