About

A math guy who lived 4 years in the US in the late 80s, but has lived in Finland the rest of his life.

I may be prone to soapboxing. If that becomes disruptive, tap my shoulder.

Theses:

  • Much of transatlantic misunderstandings originate from the common American belief that Europe is a monoculture as well as the common European belief that the US is a monoculture. Unfortunately, if you point this out at the wrong time you end up standing in the middle of a pissing contest.
  • If some politician suggests that there is a simple explanation/solution to a problem, then they are either a half-wit or a populist. I dunno which is worse. The world is a complicated place.
