How did Trump's January 6 speech call for insurrection and violence?
@donbright Completely agree, in the context of his previous behaviour it is crystal clear how the speech would be received by (many of) his supporters.

@DJClayworth You're absolutely right, around the 27 minute mark in the video in the link. He's says that he says "don't hurt them" for the press, because they'll always spin what he says in a negative way. As usual, it's clear what he meant but could be argued to mean something else

Comparing the summer of 2020's BLM protests to the events at the Capitol on 6th January, 2021
@Burt those protests definitely had a higher chance of becoming violent, owing primarily to the fact that there were large numbers of armed counter protestors and a huge militarised police presence. Both of which have been proven time and time again to increase tension and the risk of violence. Of the ~25 people who died in protests in 2020 the majority were BLM protestors, and all but one were killed by civilians. theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/31/…

Have there been any riots due to the 2020 US presidential election results?
There was the recent "million maga march", but it didn't seem to result in any riots - bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-54945154
