The problem is, when people are asked whether we should produce improved chairs or build more kindergartens, schools, and residential apartments, people usually say they would tolerate worse chairs.

Sep 6, 2016 at 11:50 | comment | added | Rathony | I think Socialism is more democratic than Capitalism in any case. You need to note that SE is not a discussion forum and your personal opinion should not be posted as an answer if it can't be supported by any reference or research. Very interesting argument, but it seems flawed.
Sep 6, 2016 at 11:39 | comment | added | Anixx | @Rathony yes, I think Socialism is more democratic than Capitalism in any case. Even if the elections are not that democratic, but the government somehow responsible to the people, Socialism in all cases beats Capitalism on democracy.
Sep 6, 2016 at 11:29 | comment | added | Rathony | You seem to have just opened a big can of worms. I don't think your definition of democracy is right and your argument that the majority of property can't be controlled by the public is the basis for democracy is somewhat flawed. It sounds more like communism than democracy.

One can have perfectly democratic government but all the economy controlled by the private parties.
