Why should the state not provide for the basic necessities of its people? I am thinking of things like water, food, and housing as "basic necessities".

I think some people prefer a state not to provide these things, but I don't understand why. Without access to these necessities, some people will likely die.

Should the State do it? to feed the basics necessities of the people (example: maintain house, foods and water for those that don't have conditions) ?

If the answer is not, then how people that don't have conditions WILL SURVIVE? because some countryes/places/communities/enterprise are limited by money/GOLD and it's not possible exist money/gold for pay all the people.

I appreciate if someone can explain me why is better exist a State that don't MAINTAIN (with basic supplies) his people.
